Toombul plays host in double-header
Date of Event : Thu Jun 8, 2017 8:00PM

This weekend's live-streamed National Match of the Day heads to Action Indoor Sports Toombul in the South-East Queensland zone on Sunday 11th June.

Host side Toombul Tigers will take on Victoria Point Vipers in the Women’s division at 6.15pm AEST, with the hosts then up against K&R Plumbing Supplies Toowoomba Dragons in the men’s division clash at 8pm.

All four competing teams boast current State and Australian Indoor Cricket stars in their squads, with the Tigers women’s team also joined by Brisbane Heat WBBL player Kara Sutherland.

This weekend sees the women’s division move into Round 5 of their season, and while the Vipers have just the one win under their belt, a win on Sunday will keep them in contention for a finals position.

The last time these two teams met was in Round 1, with the Tigers claiming three skins in their 20-run victory over the Vipers. Toombul Tigers are coming off a two-game winning streak and will seek to continue their solid run into the second half of their season.

Meanwhile, in the men's match-up, this will be the first time these two teams face each other this season.

The Toombul Tigers men’s team will move into the weekend with some confidence having won four of their six games this season and are currently sitting a-top their division’s ladder.

The Dragons have had just the one loss this season, and captain and Australian representative Lyle Teske has been a stand out performer in many of their games.
