This weekend, ICA Sportzworx Stepney will be hosting the South Australian zones Beastwear National Indoor Cricket League’s live streamed matches.
The women’s sides will kick start the event at 5:45 ACST, with Stepney Thunder facing off against Stepney United. After both sides endured narrow losses in last weekend’s match, this match becomes crucial for either side as they enter the back half of the season.
This will be the third time these two sides clash, with the ledger sitting evenly at one a piece after the Thunder made amends for their round two defeat to edge out United in a thrilling finish with the game finishing 99-97.
With the Thunder, comfortably in second place, Captain Tegan McPharlin will be pushing her side to claim the points so that they can build on their 13-point gap between themselves and the Steelers in third position.
Meanwhile, United Captain Jessica O’Reilly will be heading into the match with plenty of confidence after her side fell agonisingly short last week to the top placed Devils 89-90.
Then from 7:30pm local time, we see a re-match from last season’s Grand Final as Morphett Vale Sharks and Modbury Chiefs go head-to-head.
This is the third time these two sides meet with the score line currently sitting at one a piece with Morphett Vale claiming their first win of the season thanks to a stellar performance from SA state duo Lachlan Ferguson and Zach Reekie as the Sharks won 91-90.
It’s been an indifferent season for the Sharks, who currently sit fourth with the one win, however, a chance to defeat their cross-town rival on the big stage will no doubt bring out the best of this group.
Australian Representative and SA Captain Jarrad Indraratne will be lining up for the Chiefs who currently sit comfortable on top of the ladder.
