Hobart to host live-stream clash
Date of Event : Fri Jul 20, 2018 11:50AM

This weekend’s Beastwear NICL live-streamed games will be hosted by High Performance Cricket Tasmania, with Round 8 action taking place.

With only three rounds remaining in the Tasmania Men’s Division, both of Sunday nights games will have a huge impact on ladder positions.

The first game of the evening will be a top of the table clash between the unbeaten Eastern Shore Bombers and the Kingborough Knights, followed by Hobart South up against the Huon & Channel Hornets.

The Bombers are going into the clash as the in-form team and are well lead by former Australian Representative Tom Robinson. They have been fantastic in the field with no team having scored more than 50 against them, whilst their batting performances have also been consistent, with Ben Bannister yet to be dismissed.

They take on the 2nd placed Knights who are hitting their groove at the right time and playing a great standard of Indoor Cricket. The Knights boast Hobart Hurricanes BBL player Clive Rose.

Clive’s experience is starting to rub off on the young side and they’ve had some terrific wins of late, none better than last week's win over the Huon & Channel Hornets.

In the 8pm clash, both the Hobart South and Huon & Channel Hornets need to win to stay in contention for finals.

Former Tasmania representative player Mark Divin leads the Hobart South side as they look to take the points of the Hornets after being beaten badly in their round 3 encounter.

The Hornets will need to win to keep their faint hope’s of a top two finish alive after failing to grasp their opportunity to beat the Knights in round 7 last week.

Skipper Morgan McGuire has been fantastic behind the stumps and with the bat, but he’ll need support from the rest of the team this Sunday if they’re to get across the line.

The Eastern Shore Roos have the bye.
