Date of Event : Fri Aug 31, 2018 10:31AM

The 2018 Beastwear National Indoor Cricket League Finals Series will be played this weekend in Adelaide.

Ten men’s teams - split across two pools - and five women’s teams will compete for the national title, after winning their regional zone.

A total of $54,000 worth of prize money will be up for grabs, including a grand prize of $10,000 for the winning men’s and women’s team and $5,000 for both runners-up.

The Finals Series will see a total of 34 matches played at the Action Indoor Sports Salisbury, starting at 8.30am on Friday 31 August and wrapping up with the women’s grand final at 12pm and men’s grand final at 2pm on Sunday 2 September.

This year’s competition has brought together some of the Australia’s - and the world’s - best indoor cricketers.

Australia is the reigning world champion in all divisions of indoor cricket - completing a clean sweep in the Open Men’s, Open Women’s, 21 & Under Men’s and 21 & Under Women’s divisions at last year’s Indoor Cricket World Cup.

Several past and present State and W/BBL players have competed in this year’s NICL, including the likes of Clive Rose, Trent Lawford, Kara Sutherland, Tegan McPharlin, Naomi Stalenberg and Carly Leeson.

A total of 86 teams across 15 divisions nation-wide participated this year, the second year of the tournament, with more than 400 games making up the competition.

A number of matches will be live-streamed across the Finals Series, from 10:15am on Friday 31 August and Saturday 2nd September, and from 8:00am on Sunday 3 September - including all finals fixtures.
